A Pleasant SurpriseSunday, March 06, 2005
What a surprise...
This album gets better as you go along. It definitively is the most mature album of AOB; more polished, interesting, more commercial (in a good sense).
Pop fans should be in heaven. Rock fans, while won't fall in love, might actually enjoy few tracks (makes for a good 'car' CD as you are trying to stay awake in a traffic jam).
Tracks that should be noted here include (in no particular order): Da Capo, What's The Name of The Game, Change With The Light, Hey Darling, and Wonderful Life (although the fans of the original version might find this one almost sacrilegious)

ANOTHER STELLAR CD!Sunday, January 30, 2005
Yet again Ace of Base has come out with an awesome album! These guys continue to be under-appreciated and produce quality work. If you liked the last album you will love this one. It has a mix of upbeat and slow songs that all seem to have a great beat to them. I don't need to list all the songs because you can see for yourself. If you are an Ace of Base fan then stop reading and start buying! If you have never heard of Ace of Base think Roxette meets Abba meets Voice of the Beehive.

Da CapoMonday, January 17, 2005
The Swedish superstars are back at it again with their fourth album, "Da Capo". Hailed as their triumphant "return to form", the album is chock full of glossy dance-pop and insatiable melodies that have become the group's trademark. But the "return to form" is somewhat misleading considering they have never really strayed from the same formula. True, their songwriting has only become more solid over the years, and their productions are far more detailed and engaging than the bare (though incredibly intoxicating) arrangements of their mega-hit debut "The Sign", but nothing has drastically shifted their sound. "Da Capo" doesn't prove otherwise, but if anything it's a testament to just how catchy and charming the group really is. Songs like "Beautiful Morning" and "Show Me Love" are sunny pop gems, while "The Juvenile" and "World Down Under" come across as slightly darker but equally whimsical. "Unspeakable" echoes the dance-driven reggae stylings of their debut and an inescapable chorus, while "Hey Darling" leans a bit towards "rock" (about as rock as Swedish Euro-pop stars can get). The real stand-out is the title track, a slick club-driven track that instantly recalls the melodic Euro-techno sounds of their debut. The album really would've been a stunner if they had built around the style of this song, but nevertheless "Da Capo" is a wonderful pop release- light years ahead of any current dance-pop artists- but not anything out of the ordinary for Ace of Base.
The best of Ace of BaseFriday, December 24, 2004
Two years after its original release I finally got my hands on it. For some reason it wasn't widely available here in R.O.Ireland. But it was worth the wait.
This is a fantastic album the best yet.
I love every song but my favourites are 'Unspeakable, Da Capo, Hey Darling and The Juvenile'. But the other 8 songs are equally fantastic.....well done AOB.
an album for all seasonsSaturday, August 14, 2004
I don't know their previous works but this one is great.
Da Capo, Unspeakable are nice fast paced songs you'll never
feel tired of but my favorite song is juvenile, very soulful...
If you're looking for a pop album you can always listen to no matter what kind of music you like, this is it...
Best tracks : Da Capo, Unspeakable, Juvenile, Remember The World, World Down Under, Wonderful Life...
