We bought this gate when we moved into our new house. I have a 4 year old, 1 year old, and a new puppy. This gate is used for keeping the kids and puppy from going downstairs (we live in a bi-level home), and it works great. The 4 year old has not even attempted to see if he can open it, and the 1 year old cannot even reach the latch to open it anyway. Its nice with the clear window to be able to see who is behind it before you open it, or see that you don't catch a finger. Its very very sturdy, and so far have had no problems with the gate. I'm actually ordering more for other areas of the house, mainly the kitchen.

We love this gate. I originally purchased it for a opening that it didn't fit. Before I could return it, I used it and feel in love with it!! Our daughter loves to look through the gate and watch us. I think it doesn't make her feel as trapped at some of the other ones. It's also very easy to keep clean and sanitary. You just wipe it down. Unlike those gates that have the crate style. We didn't install it but the ease of use works fine for us. It is one-handed put-up and take-down. I just set it into place and the once you push down on the handle the gate expands to ensure a snug (very snug!) and secure fit.

Installing this product was quite easy and has proven to be a great choice! The gate is durable and very easy to use!

We've had our gate for 1 year and it works just as well now as the day we got it. It was a snap to install. We installed ours at the top of our stairs. With a push of a lever the gate can be taken off the wall mounts in about 3 seconds to use as a pressure mounted gate downstairs. We didn't have to buy a second gate for the downstairs because this one is so versatile. My daughter bangs on the gate, sometimes kicks it. It doesn't budge. There is nothing for her to climb on. The gate is easy to open and close (one-handed operation). It's also easy to clean because the plastic and plexiglas are smooth.

I purchased 2 of these gates a couple of months ago. I planned to use them pressure mounted. At first they worked great & I loved the fact that you could see thru them, but already one of them lost tension so now it doesn't fit tight in the doorway. I'm contacting the first years customer svc today & will let you know how I make out.
****4/19/05 Good customer service. All I have to do is break the handle off the gate & mail it back to them and they'll send a new gate.
