I've seen this movie at night, alone. Don't do that!!
Because this movie has a so much fascinate atmosphere, and every scene is unique.
More than that i can't say, but: buy it, hold it, love it.

UMMM...the end was good, cause that ment it was over?Saturday, December 04, 2004
This movie was SUPPOSED to be a cult classic, It has some aspects, but really never gets going. Right when you think the movie is "finnaly" getting good, the end credits roll, and you're just like, ummmmm, what was the point of the last hour and a half of my life? It's rather corney in the effects department, and though that did cause me to erupt in fits of violent giggels, the blood looked like pink jello, and for some reason Angela Landsbury kept telling her grandaughter that men with a unibrow were the devils minions. This movie would of done better as a colection of short werewolf stories, because the grandmothers repetitive breaks into gothic Fairy tales are AWESOME, but take away from the non existent plot. The movie finally gets good when "little red" finally meets a very handsome unibrowed "wolf" on the way to granny's, who tempts her with the pleasures of the flesh and eats out of her picnic basket. This leads to some more very bad effects, and about two minutes total of worth while "wolf action" This movie is not horrible if you dont try to watch it more than once from beginning to end, but use the scene selection instead, to allow theindividual short stories to stand on their own.

Freud's Fairy TalesSaturday, July 03, 2004
This is a decidely freudian interpretation of classic fairy tales. Both implicitly and explicity, the story is immersed in sexuality; it defines the loss of virginity in terms of fear, horror and violence. Men are protrayed as predatory animals and savage beasts solely driven by lust, who must be killed before they violate their young maiden prey.
This film boasts a talented director (Neil Jordan, who co-wrote the script) and cast (the beautiful young lead, Sarah Patterson, especially deserves praise) but suffers from a lack of focus regarding the plot structure and overall intent. It has a schizophrenic personality, never quite deciding whether it is a quality family film, an out-and-out horror flick or an adult exploration into sexuality. It never wholly succeeds on any of these levels.

Better pay attention to grannyWednesday, May 19, 2004
The Company of Wolves, Neil Jordan's violent retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood tale, is weird, wonderful and gorgeously photographed. It's a story of a young girl's transition to adulthood, with all the sexual awakening and conflicted feelings one might suppose. This part of the story is told with great empathy and imagination. However, be prepared for werewolves, gore, creepy woods and creepy characters. It's hard to tell who's more unsettling, the wolves or granny. A very good movie. The DVD transfer is quite watchable.
