poor design, cheap lookingMonday, February 07, 2005
The product description was so convincing that I ordered one. To my dissapointed, the package was poor, the product looks cheap, and it didn't work at all. To be worse, I was refunded $0 after return as Amazon applied $25 off $125 coupon to this item. What a waste of time and money!

ample warmth, poor designSaturday, January 29, 2005
The Pros: this heater is efficient and as quiet as you'd expect a fan-based heater to be. i have no trouble quickly heating a small room with it.
The Cons: terrible design in almost every aspect. the knobs are not only very hard to turn, but they are incredibly poorly marked. next, the "on" light should be re-labelled a "plugged in" light, which is useless; the "on" light should be a quick way to check from a distance whether the heating element is on, but that is not the case here. the entire unit is rather unwieldy, clunky, and feels like very cheap merchendise. the tip-over prevention mechanism is simply a spring-button on the bottom of the unit, rather than an internal guage. this is clumsy and causes the unit to often accidentally auto-shutoff if not on a very flat surface (in fact, i suspect this is the culprit of some of the complaints in earlier reviews).
The Bottom line: unless you really really want the oscillate feature, get another heater if you can find one similarly priced. (i was very satisfied with a Vornado heater a while back.)

Good inexpensive heater but perfectWednesday, January 26, 2005
This is a good heater if you want something inexpensive to keep you warm. It does it job of warming a drafty 8x10 room. It has kept my boys warm this winter. I agree with the other reviews that the indications on the knobs are hard to see. I usually have to turn the light on to see what I have selected. The other down side is no on/off switch. I ususally unplug it when not in use. I don't like the osciallating feature since it doesn't seem to warm the room as efficient. You get a breeze as it oscillate. I perfer it not to osciallate since it is more quite and does the job heating the room.

It is a very good fanTuesday, January 25, 2005
I bought this fun in December 2004. It helps me in the cold weather in New Jersey. It is more powerful than I thought. In addition, it runs quitely without any noise. The oscillating function is useful to make the hot air going around more evenly. You will be pleased to have this one in the cold winter. It is a good buy!

never againSaturday, January 15, 2005
I bought this heater and it didn't even work on arrival. The pilot light came on, but nothing else. What a waste of time and money.
