Product Description
The History of Rock
Description
The History of Rock arrives as the sort of superstardom-celebrating release that can buy a hot-selling artist time. (Think, say, G N' R Lies.) After 8 million (and counting) sales of 1998's Devil Without a Cause, the trailer-rockin' rapper is out to remind the world that it hardly started there. Mostly drawn, and often retooled, from his out-of-print Polyfuze Method and Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp, these tracks display a "funky country hick" already on point with his knowing, hardheaded combo of old-school beats and classic-rock guitars. An "American Bad Ass" for sure, but also an artist who could come only from America, Kid Rock brings the noise--not to mention the bread and the circus. --Rickey Wright

5 of 5 stars  An Awesome Kid Rock Album. May Only Apply for Fans.
Monday, April 11, 2005
A lot of people don't like this album, but i'm a big Kid Rock fan so I loved it. This might have something to do with me liking it and other people not liking it. This album is quite literally "The History of Rock". Well, Kid Rock anyway. It's an anthology of his older stuff with some newer stuff here and there. Some of its rap and some of its rock, but pretty much all of it is good. His older raps flow together great and I truly think this is one of Rocks best. Here are the tracks:
American Bada$$: Great song. Rockin' beat. One of Kid Rocks best.
Prodigal Son: Terrific lyrics. Really good song.
Paid: A rap song. Kid sounds a lot different. This song is allright.
Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp: Awesome song. The lyrics are great and funny. They flow together so well. Terrific.
Dark & Grey: Great lyrics. A mix of rock and rap. Very cool song.
3 Sheets to the Wind: This song is an older Kid Rock song. It's kind of cool to see how much his style has changed.
Abortion: This song is allright. The guitar is really good.
I Wanna Go Back: Very cool rap song. The rhymes in this one flow so well and it sounds so naturaly as if he put no thought in.
F**k That: This is a f**kin awesome song. Great chorus.
F**k You Blind: This song is pretty cool. The lyrics are kinda stupid, but other than that...
Born 2 B A Hick: This song is hilarious.
My Oedipus Complex: Shows a lot of aggression. Really good though.
Really good album. A-

5 of 5 stars  Kid Rock Is Incredible, Go to His Concerts; Listen & Watch
Tuesday, September 14, 2004
Kid Rock is a fabulous musician and singer. His band is equally wonderful. I have all his music, and I listened to 9 hours as I traveled from my home in Florida back to Maryland. You have missed out if you have not seen his concerts. He includes the audience, and he is awesome. You will feel alive and will love every second of both his music and his CD's. Go see him, and then listen to him, and he is undescribable. He is fabulous and can play any instrument, and go from blues to hard rocking. He can move that body. He is a must see!!! Listen to him, as well!! I am no child and his concerts were attended by tons of baby boomers and Harley riders!!

You know this guy did appeal to me at first, but if you have this CD youve heard American Bad Ass, right? Listen to Metallicas "Sad But True". He ripped off the guitar part completely. H e tries to be metal, hardcore rap, and country at the same time. Fails miserably. He is a talentless wigger. Wait...thats too nice. I hope he commits suicide.

2 of 5 stars  Not as hot as Devil without a cause and Cocky
Sunday, May 25, 2003
I have all three of Kid's albums and The history Of Rock isn't as good as the other two I'm afraid. Some of the songs are O.K. If I had to put the three albums in order of best to worst, History of Rock would come last and its a tie between cocky and Devil without a cause for the top spot. I don't know, maybe you'll like this album.
