Mariah says Take NoticeSunday, May 15, 2005
This album is so good it's not even funny...I mean this girl went there...4 #1 song off ths album alone speaks volume at her writing and singing ability (Usher's latest album also had 4 #1 songs off of it to put it in perspective)...Now with Mariah's resurgence in 2005 with The Emancipation, the "Mariah Carey" album will probably be her third US 10x platimum album. This is a must have album for anyone collection.

Seing has how Mariah had half of this album already written in high school, It's no wonder after almost 200,000,000 albums and singles sold worldwide since her 1990 debut, that this album is still one of her best. Mariah's voice is unstoppable and one of the most recognizable in music...She not only opened the door, but she came crashing through.

Her best album!Tuesday, April 12, 2005
If you want a reason why she was the top selling female performer of the 90's; if you want to know why she is still relevant in the music world; if you want to know why I think she is a better music artist and vocalist than Whitney and Celine, then get this album! While maybe the content wasn't as "deep" as Whitney's debut, Mariah still can be proud of where she started at in the music industry. "Vision of Love" is one of her best songs ever! I still find myself getting chills from the strength and confidence in her performance. No one else could have done that song and still sound good. "The Vanishing" is a fan favorite that not well known but incredibly beautiful. "Someday" is a real fun track. And "Love Takes Time" was a good way to end the album with its sadness and yet glimmer of hope (reminds me a lot of her later song "Hero"). She deservedly won two (and her only, but hopefully her new release "Mimi" and her great single "We Belong Together" will change that) Grammys for this impressive debut. Believe the hype when it comes to this girl.

Incredible voice, wonderful album.Friday, March 11, 2005
This album contains 4 No.1 singles, they R track 1,3,4 and 11.In this album Mariah's high octave is demonstrated perfectly;the uniqueness and impressiveness of her voice can be so easily perceived. Her lyrics are elegant, recherche, and elaborate, in some songs, they reflect the social and mondial verity, which encourages us 2 think, 4 example the 2nd song 'There's got 2 B a way'. I love this song particularly, but what I can't understand is that how can this song made a flop in Europe when she made it as a single? This should B another No. 1 4 her I think!
As a debut album, performing like this is already a miracle. Not every singer has this kinda capacity 2 achieve this! Not 2 mention, she wrote all of the songs and lyrics by herself, 4 the whole album!!Just amazing!
I have all of Mariah's albums,in my opinion, this 1 and the next 1 'Emotions' could B regarded as her best.Strongly recommend this album!

mariah's "off the wall"Friday, March 11, 2005
this album is slick in production and the vocals are the focal point throughout the CD. After her biggest selling CD's music box and daydream she was trying to be this hip hop diva and hasn't recovered from it, just look at "mimi's" sales now
