5 of 5 stars  Awesome Price, Awesome Product

Cuisinart Classic Stainless is the next best thing to All-Clad that you can get according to Cook's Illustrated (makers of the PBS show America's Test Kitchen). They're very beautiful, shiny, heavy, and best of all---- they perform wonderfully. They hold a simmer very well, and my food doesn't burn.

Most of the Cuisinart Classic Stainless pots and pans go for WELL OVER $100 EACH at stores like Bed, Bath, and Beyond as well as Linens 'n Things. Buy these at Amazon! I was delighted to see most prices from Amazon were between $20-40 instead of $120-150 at the other stores. Then consider no tax, no shipping costs.... what a bargain!

5 of 5 stars  Best Pan Ever for...Coffee Roasting!
Monday, March 14, 2005
I bought this pan for only one reason and one reason only that is to pan roast coffee. For pan roasting coffee one needs a pan that will heat up evenly, retain heat and remain durable under high temperatures. This pan shines in all these respects and looks wonderful too.

This pan with its aluminum core heats up very even across the bottom and even up the sides while the handle remains cool to the touch and easy to move the pan at anytime.

This pan is also wonderful at retaining heat. It acts much like cast iron! I love it, this pan gets hot and stays hot, works great for coffee roasting!

Beyond the great function of this pan it looks wonderful and I proudly display it with the rest of my coffee supplies! This pan is a must have for any pan coffee roaster! See this for more information about pan coffee roasting: "double u", "double u", "double u", "dot", angelfire "dot" com "slash" pro2 "slash" panroastingcoffee "slash." The items in quotation marks are the character spelled out, for example "double u" is really "w"

5 of 5 stars  Great Pan, Bad Shipping from Amazon
Sunday, March 13, 2005
This pan is heavy yet awesome. I bought this pan, a 3 qt saucepan, and the 12 inch everything pan, and a 5 1/2 qt saute pan. I bought all four on one order but all arrived in different boxes, in different conditions and from different shipping companies. The 5-1/2 qt saute pan was shipped via FedEx in the Cuisinart box with one end resealed with a piece of cardboard and lots of tape - the helper handle of the pan was the tiniest bit scratched. The saucepans were put in an amazon box and shipped via UPS perfectly. The Everything pan was shipped via a weirldy named shipping company that FedEx uses and was fine. 5 stars on the pans, but 1 1/2 stars for Amazon. This is the first time of the hundreds of items and times that I have used Amazon that I was not very happy with the way things were shipped.

5 of 5 stars  INVALUABLE

I LOVE TO COOK. IT ONLY TOOK 33 YRS. OF MASTERING IT TO FIND UTOPIA IN THE COOKWARE & CUTLERY DEPT.! USING TRIAL BY ERROR, I FOUND IT IN BOTH AREAS, & BELIEVE ME AMAZON HELPED TO MAKE IT AN EASY TRIAL. THEY HAVE ALL THE ITEMS YOU'LL EVER NEED & THE LOW PRICES HELP TO MAKE IT A WISE INVESTMENT. IF YOU'RE TIMID ABOUT ONLINE PURCHASES, DO AS I'VE DONE---GO TO THE EXPENSIVE DEPARTMENT STORES; HANDLE THE MERCHANDISE TO GET THE FEEL OF WHAT YOU WANT, SIZE UP YOUR NEEDS, FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH BRANDS & QUALITIES. ONCE YOU HAVE ALL THAT UNDER YOUR BELT, COME TO AMAZON & GO WITH THE CUISINART LINE. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ITEM. FIRST THE LOOKS & THE NAME ARE QUALITY. ALSO,YOU DON'T WANT PLAIN STAINLESS STEEL-----YOU WANT EITHER A LAYER OF COPPER, OR ALUMINUM IN THERE FOR MORE EFFICIENT HEAT DISTRIBUTION, & CUISINART HAS IT.
LAST, THIS IS A GREAT SAUCEPOT SIZE! MOST COOKWARE LINES & PEOPLE HAVE MAYBE A 3 QT.SAUCEPAN. YOU JUMP TO A SM. DUTCH OVEN IF THE 3 QT. DOESN'T WORK. WELL THIS 4 QT. IS GREAT. IT CAN HANDLE A LOT, WITHOUT BEING TOO HUGE & GIVES YOU THE NICE HANDLE TOO. I ALSO HAVE THE 9-1/2" & 12" SKILLET & 1 QT. SAUCIER. TO ROUND OUT THE LIST, & I HAVE THE 5 QT. EVERYDAY PAN FOR OVEN CASSEROLE USE ON MY WISH LIST. DO GET AT LEAST 1 CUISINART NON-STICK FRYPAN FOR COOKING EGGS, ETC. & THINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO STICK (PUT ON WISH LIST FOR EGG FRYING HUSBAND)...... FOR EVERYTHING ELSE, SS IS THE WAY TO GO.YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE SS IF LIKE A PROFESSIONAL, YOU WANT TO SEAR & DEGLAZE FOR SAUCES & GRAVIES. AND JUST REMEMBER,YOU CAN SPEND A LOT MORE ON CALPHALON & ALL CLAD, BUT THEY AREN'T ANY BETTER, & WEIGH A WHOLE LOT MORE------SOMETHING ELSE TO CONSIDER. IF YOU DON'T HAVE POPEYE MUSCLES, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FLIP THINGS IN THOSE BRANDS! BY-THE-WAY, DO AS THE DIRECTIONS SAY----DON'T SCRUB THESE PANS IF THEY GET COOKED ON----JUST LET SOAK A FEW MINUTES WITH SOAPY WATER & VOILA!
