Product Description
The Simpsons - Treehouse of Horror
Description
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, 2001, Harry Potter, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Tron should consider themselves wildly flattered as they get the inimitable Simpsons skewering in this shockingly funny collection of four mostly classic "Treehouse of Horror" episodes. Best is "V," in which no TV and no beer make Homer go crazy in "The Shinning" ("You mean 'The Shining,'" Bart corrects. "Shh, you want to get sued?" Homer reprimands him). "VI" contains the ambitious, computer-animated "Homer3." "VII" features aliens Kang and Hados's finest quarter half-hour as they assume the identities of Bill Clinton and Bob Dole. "XII" boasts the star power of Pierce Brosnan as the voice of a mechanized house that falls in love with Marge and lures Homer to his apparent death with "unexplained bacon." For Halloween and beyond, this crypt-kicking collection is all screamingly funny treats. --Donald Liebenson

5 of 5 stars  A Simpsons Fan For Life!

I can't say anything that these other reviews haven't covered, but only my honest opinion.
I've already watched this one DVD of the Simpsons, six times... all the way through. Entertaining other people who love the Simpsons. Because everybody knows the Treehouse of Horror episodes were the ones we waited for. The bonus on Halloween night over the years, was that they were showing the darkest of the Simpson episodes that night.
I do agree, why these four peticular seasons and not the other 12 seasons out there? Why not more than just four Simpson episodes? The reason has to be because they're planning on making another Treeehouse of Horror DVD, like they did to the Christmas with the Simpsons 2 DVD.
I prefer watching a bunch of Halloween episodes put together, than having to open four box sets to watch one cd for one episode. That's the hugest benefit of having the Treehouse of Horror DVD. The box sets I do believe are being released perfectly, with a clear sound and picture. Still, I find this one cd of Simpson Halloween episodes just as entertaining.
Any true Simpson fan would rate this 5 stars, I don't care if they put the four worst episodes on this DVD... which they hadn't. The Simpsons have always been absolute fun. Now I only ask for Fox to get their butt in gear and keep making the seasons, with yet another great Treehouse of Horrors DVD. Again, this is a terrific DVD for any Simpson fan... for that reason alone, it'll always be worth buying!
