5 of 5 stars  Wonderful for "flat heads"
Sunday, April 17, 2005
I have been using this product for over a month for my 3 month old baby..it has been great in reducing his flat spot. It works great in his bouncy seat, play gym, car seat and swing. Our pediatrician also said it was great. Wonderful for my baby who will not stay on his side or turn his head when sleeping.

5 of 5 stars  Can you put a price on peace of mind?
Thursday, April 14, 2005
I think not. Not to mention the future self esteem issues your child may have. Also, the price is quite reasonable. I read somewhere that it costs about $3000 to get one of those helmets, and most insurance companies won't cover them. I would rather try this than make my poor son wear one of those silly looking things 23 hrs a day anyway. To the reviewer that said this was a waste of money because your child didn't need it, consider yourself lucky. My first child didn't need one either, and I didn't do anything special with her. She was just lucky. Every child is different, so you shouldn't make assumptions based on your personal experience. Most of the reviewers here said it helped them, so sell yours on ebay and keep your gripes to yourself. Also, to the reviewer that said you can only use the headrest that came with the carseat, that is just ridiculous. I have a Graco Snugride and the headrest it came with is crappy. It's too wide and is made of uncomfortable material. My poor son's head flopped all over the place, so we got one that fit. And any headrest that came with the carseat can easily be removed. You don't have to "double up." This is just common sense. But this is going to be even better than the one I used before because it will help relieve the pressure that is causing my son to have a flat head. There is an old saying that I think applies here: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." As a parent, I would do anything for my child's well-being. Wouldn't you?

4 of 5 stars  Worth buying
Saturday, April 02, 2005
This is an expensive pillow that is worth buying. I used it with my daughter because she was getting flathead. I do think it helped. I used it in her stroller, when she was on the floor playing and when she was in her bouncy chair. It's worth the money.

4 of 5 stars  Not a waste of money

I felt compelled to respond to the review by Anonymous from Ft. Worth (below). Babies getting a flat head is not so easily avoided by repositioning in the crib. I knew about plagiocephaly (flattening of the head)so I had been repositioning my baby since birth. Nevertheless, we noticed his head getting flat at 3 mos. At that time, we bought this product from Pottery Barn Kids, but because you are not supposed to let the baby sleep on it, we only used it when he was in his bouncy or car seats (not too often). It seems like a great product, and we will continue to use it, but I don't think this product alone will help. If your baby is on his back for 12+ hours a day in his crib, he may develop plagiocephaly (flattening of the head),anyway. If your baby's head seems flat, there are other things that you can do, and there is lots of information about it on the internet.

4 of 5 stars  Great but....

This is a great product. If interested you should also check out The Pottery Barn Kids website. They carry this product but in a very soft chamois material and in 3 different colors. Of course it does cost a little more too.
