Great workout, pleasant instructorTuesday, April 26, 2005
I am fairly new to Pilates and very new to the stability ball. I have found this workout to be very well-rounded and fun to do. I am comfortably sore the next day, and able to do the workout again two days later. I have noticed huge improvements in my back and core strength...no more backaches! While some of the moves may be difficult for beginners, you can modify these by sticking with the basic ones she demonstrates before adding the challenges. As your skill increases, you'll be amazed how fast you can advance to the more complex moves. The instructor is pleasant, inspiring and not too perky!
While this workout does increase my heartrate, I found the need to add additional aerobic exercise to my regime to help with overall weight loss. This video will help you tone & strenghten, but may not make extra body fat disappear entirely.

i very much liked this workout and 2 days later i can still feel my abs. ALL of them. the instructor Elizabeth showed me several things i was doing incorrectly and now understand why my leg work wasnt really working.. I just recently got into exercise ball workouts to tone my abs just a couple months ago and this is my favorite workout. Thanks!

Hard on Core!!Sunday, January 23, 2005
This is a good pilates inspired workout on the ball. The ball really challenges the abs. This is not a beginner's DVD. If you are weak in the abs, MODIFY the moves. If you have a bad back, find something else. This workout needs a warm-up segment and a stretch segment. You will need to do these on your own.

Keeps on givingSaturday, January 15, 2005
After my incessant keyboard slouching started taking a toll on my back, I thought it was time to give a pilates inspired workout a try (I was a dancer in a previous life). The end result? While I haven't lost pounds from this video alone, my posture is better, I look taller, my core is much stronger, and my waist is much more defined. And that was after just two weeks. No kidding.
This dvd is an absolute joy, and just keeps on giving. It starts off very gently with abdominal tilts, but quickly moves into floor work that actually has me breaking into a sweat. It's been a few months now and I'm still trying to master some of the exercises ((the ballisk, anyone?). It works every part of your core, and the leg lifts at the end really give you a burn. The music is soothing yet invigorating, and Lizbeth makes an excellent instructor. Pay attention to her breathing instruction - it makes a world of difference (which you should know if you've tried yoga and pilates before). And the best part are the bonus exercises which are just if not more challenging as the main video.
