Elmo's Big Lift-And-look Book
|
 |
Description
Count to 10, explore the alphabet, discover shapes, learn about opposites, and find the missing teddy bear in this big, colorful board book. Sesame Street's beloved Elmo guides young readers to lift more than 60 flaps to reveal humorous and edifying surprises. Over the word "dry," Grover gazes unsuspectingly into a garden hose. Turn the flap and guess what happens! Grover learns all about "wet." A towering pyramid of alphabet blocks contains objects starting with the same letter behind each flap: alligator, book, cookies. Large, sturdy flaps allow rough-tough toddler hands to clutch and pull as much as they want with minimal risk of tearing. Children will adore the bright, bold illustrations of Jim Henson's familiar Muppet characters and beg to return to this book again and again. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter

Great Big BookFriday, April 15, 2005
This book is definitely one of my baby's favorite. We got it for her when she was about 10 months old. She would flip all the tabs and turn all the pages. She started to recognize where things were and we really enjoyed teaching her the different things on the pages. We got this book for a friend and she loves it too.

What a wonderful book and learning toolTuesday, February 08, 2005
I bought this book for my daughter when she was 13 months old and she loves it and has learned numbers, letters, and shapes by looking at the book. She is now 17 months old. She also likes to pretend play with the fruit in the pictures of the book.
However, I would only buy this book new. The child will have more fun exploring the book on their own for the first time. Also the pages can be a little messed up from opening the flaps and turning the pages with the flap open.
Overall great book, great characters, great color and great learning tool. I woul recommend this book to any parent who has a Sesame Street fan.

ELMO BOOK?!?!?! My daughter's favoriteMonday, January 10, 2005
We bought this book for my daughter when she was 15 months old and it quickly became her favorite. She asks for it ALL THE TIME! It has helped her learn the alphabet and numbers. The alphabet page included some different words from the usual ABC books, which helped her improve her vocabulary. The best page on this book is the page with shapes and colors, I believe it was her primary tool for learning shapes. It is colorful but not overwhelming, includes all the favorite Sesame Street muppets, and any child would love to read this over and over again.

One of the favoritesWednesday, December 15, 2004
My 14 month old loves this book. We bought it for him when he was a year old and he seems to never tire of looking at it. It is a great confidence builder and learning tool. I can ask him "where's your wagon?" and he'll flip open the "W" flap to show me. Of course, he loves the praise he gets for doing that in front of his grandparents!

Great bookFriday, December 10, 2004
I have purchased this book as a gift for four different families. It was a favorite of my son's at two. He quickly mastered the information presented. He loved flipping every single flap each time. Three years later, he still loves to pull it out and flip them. I want to box it with the other things he has outgrown, but he won't let me. It is an incredibly durable book. Some of the flaps are bent but none have torn. This is an educational book not a story book.
