Description
Specifically designed for digital music with wide program dynamics, Audio-Technica's mid-size ATH-M2X headphones are perfect for use with home and project studios and portable digital-audio devices like CD, minidisc, and MP3 players. The headphones use an open-back design that lets its large, 40 mm drivers "breathe" better than closed-back designs, eliminating unwanted low-frequency resonances that often color the sound from closed-ear headphones. While this helps the sound quality, be aware that it also makes them a little noisier for those around you--and permits noise from without to be audible through the headphones. The high-performance drivers use efficient, low-mass diaphragms that are easily driven by most headphone jacks. An 11.5-foot cable grants extended movement from and around your audio source, and the .125-inch-terminated cable comes with a .25-inch adapter plug for use with home audio components.
