Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figure: Raphael
Editorial Review
Ordinarily, it would not be a big concern to incur the wrath of a turtle. After all, no matter how angry they get, you could just walk a few steps away and, you know, problem solved. But an angry Raphael, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle known for his quick temper, is a much more dangerous proposition. Raphael carries twin "sais," three-pronged dagger like weapons, along with a pair of ninja throwing stars. When the situation gets too hairy, Raphael can escape on a simple pulley line that is also included. We were impressed by the level of detail on this figure, and on all Ninja Turtle figures released in the same line. And, while the figures’ range of motion is more limited than that of, say, many Spiderman figures, that’s okay. After all, they are turtles. --Charlie Williams

2 of 5 stars  Cool, for the first 3 days

I LOVED ninja turtles around when they FIRST came out (not theese new ones, the ORIGINAL ONES) So I decided to get theese figures. Don was the first I picked up. I REALLY REALLY liked him so I got this one. I liked to make them fight and stuff. They were one of my favorite toys but after a week they got put in my closet, and now I have better figures like Xevoz. O well, they are good for the fist week.

5 of 5 stars  Yeehah

This is my favorite toy. He has a cool soft chest, and u can throw him off the stairs and he wont break. THIS TOYS SO COOL. Too bad the sais are flexible. The zipline is a cool addition, and so is the DVD that came with this. Donny sucks balls though.

5 of 5 stars  Turtles rock!

Ok. Raph does have a temper problem, but he means well. You can tell this by looking at this cool action figure. I'm not gonna talk about accessories and stuff 'cause people have done it already and did a pretty good job. The thing is: tough Raph is the gang's "hothead" he's also the bravest fighter and the first one to jump in action if someone is in trouble. Raph is a great guy and this action figure will really make a TMNT fan happy. Belive me, I know what I'm talking about ^__^. After all, I AM a TMNT's fan, you know.

4 of 5 stars  Not as good produced as the other figures..

While I always liked Leos Ninja-like style, Raphaels anger made him most human-like for me. I never knew which one I like most, they have both cool sides and together they are best.
So those were the first two toys I bought, followed by Don. Unfortunately the Raph figure is not as good as the other turtles.
The first point is his colour, it's way to bright, a bit darker green would have looked more like the tv version and would have more fit in with his character.
Second are his sais. Why does Playmates continue in giving Raph the wrong sais? The toy has sais looking like short sworts, while the tv and comic Raph has sai-forks, which he can put through his fingers. ToyBiz's Marvel legends Electra has those forks.
Third is his belt. They should have made the places for the sais at his belly, not under his arms. You can't really put them in there.
But after all the figure is still cool. The modeling is much better then the old one's, the paint job is good and the face has a real good expression.
So I give 4 stars, but it could have been five.

5 of 5 stars  They are the stuff dreams are made of...

Is it just me, or does everybody have some kind of nostalgic disease. If it is just me, I'm glad I have it. Over the period of my childhood, I probably collected over 75% of the original Ninja Turtles action figures. So I was pleasantly shocked to see them hanging so proudly alongside the G.I. Joes and Wrestlemania Super Duper Deluxo Real Feel Juggernaut line (okay, I'm not into the whole wrestling thing) in my local toy store. Man are these figures cool! I always wished that the originals would look like these do. I mean, aren't they just perfect! I don't think they could have made them better, even if Toy Biz lent them some of that Lord of the Rings weaponry. Anywho, Raphael has always been my favorite (something about the brooding emotional distress, or lack thereof) and I am pleased Playmates has brought him and the gang back to life. Buy this figure, or suffer the wrath of Raphael's twin sai of death! Have fun all you Turtle nuts!!!
