Zao has done it again! When you talk about metalcore nobody else comes close. When you put together the amazing guitar riffs with the insane drumming and have Dan at the vocals. You're gonna get an amazing CD. "Ghost Psalm" is by far their best song and "Autopsy" might as well be one of their most underrated songs. Though this album rocks, it still takes a back seat to "Where Blood and Fire..."
1- Circle I Limbo: Intro 18/25
2- Circle I Limbo: Savannah 23/25
3- Circle II the Lustful: Autopsy 25/25
4- Circle II the Lustful: If These Scars Could Speak 22/25
5- Circle III the Gluttonous: the Ghost Psalm 30/25
6- Circle III the Gluttonous: Desire the End 19/25
7- Circle IV the Hoarders and the Spendthrifts: Dark Cold Sound 20/25
8- Circle IV the Hoarders and the Spendthrifts: Skin Like Winter 25/25
9- Circle V the Wrathful: Kathleen Barbra 20/25
10- Circle V the Wrathful: Man in Cage Jack Wilson 19/25

Best Zao AlbumFriday, July 16, 2004
I love this cd. It is one of those cds that will creep up on you. When you first start listening to this cd, it's not too bad, but not too much will stand out. Give it about 5-10 listens and learn the lyrics. This cd will suddenly grip you and you will start to feal the music. Go to their show (if you haven't you have robbed yourself). If you don't have this cd, buy it!!! One of the best cds in the genre. If you are a nu-metal fan and are trying to get into hardcore, buy the self-titled cd by Zao (it's what got me started on them - and don't listen to the reviews by other Zao fans, they were just pissed because Zao tried out electronic drums and did a style that was more catchy. Oh yah, if this becomes one of your favorite cds then you should buy Zao cd "The Funeral of God" It is a concept album so it flws together (it is CHAOS at its finest). Also buy Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest (Zao - save this till last) and check out As I Lay Dying (another band that is incredible in concert). Keep it real!

ZAO's best!!Wednesday, July 07, 2004
I'm a new convert to Zao...started with "Self-Titled" which I loved...still do... picked up "Legendary" next to hear what the other albums had to offer, after much deliberation settled on "Liberate" as my next purchase... Definitely their best!!! 'Liberate' marks the introduction of Scott Mellinger to the group who added some depth and credibility to the crafting of the songs, not to mention some wicked dissonance and harmonies that really explore the twin guitar possibilities. I've picked up "Blood and Fire" since and although I loved the three tracks featured on "Legendary" in comparison with "Liberate" it comes off lacking in terms of tonal depth and contrast of mood..."Liberate" really takes you there; from the depths of depressed darkness to the heights of angst all within the truly unique and mind-blowing formula that Zao brings to their song writing... I Love these Guys! and I don't even go to church! If you've loved metal all your life and want to hear something new from the cutting edge ZAO's your best bet... looking forward to "Funeral of God" on July 13th, sorry Jesse had to go, but as a drummer and father I know how it can get...
