Dumb and Dumber
Description
Delivering exactly what its title promises, this celebration of stupidity was Jim Carrey's 1994 follow-up to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask. The film pairs the rubber- faced wacky man with Jeff Daniels as the not-so-dynamic duo of Lloyd and Harry, dunderheads who come into the possession of a briefcase containing ransom money that is intended for Mob-connected kidnappers. Lauren Holly costars as the woman who lost the briefcase, and with whom Carrey falls in love (both in real life and as his moronic on-screen character). As Lloyd and Harry make a mad dash to return the briefcase (never aware of its contents), the bumbling buddies attract Mobsters, cops, and trouble galore. This lowbrow laugh-a-thon scores some solid hits for hilarity, but with gags involving ill-fated parakeets, buxom bimbos, and an overdose of laxatives, be prepared to put your brain--and good taste--on hold. --Jeff Shannon

If you liked this movie, this describes you. Good thing they
made a sequel, keep your undeveloped brain entertained! I love
Jim Carrey but, this movie is too stupid even for him!

5 of 5 stars  I'm Talking about a Little Place Called ASSSSPIN!!!

Hilarious as it was with two unemployed guys down on their luck until Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) decides that he and his pal Harry (Jeff Daniels) should get plugged into the social pipeline - all because of a briefcase left behind by the girl of Lloyd's dreams - and getting tangled up in a kidnap for ransom plot. Unknown to them, they were being pursued by two thugs, following them 2,000 miles from Providence to Aspen.

This was one of Jim Carrey's best movies, using his hilarious style of humor and acting as he had in "Liar Liar", the "Ace Ventura" series, "Cable Guy" and "Me, Myself and Irene", making the most annoying sounds, dueting "Mockingbird" with Jeff Daniels and both being dressed in the most outlandish tuxedos that seem to come from another time. This movie is sure to cause any Jim Carrey fan to roll around the floor in laughter and this is one movie that is too funny to miss out.

5 of 5 stars  The best comedy of the '90s
Monday, March 14, 2005
Dumb and Dumber is a low brow comedy, but hilarious. The film that really got Jim Carrey popular - after "In Living Color" but before Liar Liar; before The Truman Show; before A Series of Unfortunate Events. Dumb and Dumber has become a classic over the past 10 years (where's the 10-Year-Anniversary-Special-Directors-Cut-DVD Edition?) and inspired a one-joke movie 8½ years after theatrical release. Bobby and the uncredited Peter Farrelly did an excellent job directing and writing this dumb -but fantastic - film.

Single-layered Region one/NTSC-encoded disc includes photo gallery, cast biographies, trailers and subtitles. Not much. Go to IMDb's Dumb and Dumber board. There are a few petitions to get a special edition DVD packed with documentaries, actor commentary and deleted stuff.

5 of 5 stars  One of the best comedys of all time. It is fall down funny.

The movie is basically about two numbskulls, Harry and Lloyd. Lloyd is a limo driver, and he picks up a woman that is going to Aspen,Colorado. They get to the airport and he sees her leave the suitcase that she had, and he picks it up. He takes it back to his apartment, with him, and convinces his friend Harry to go on a cross-country trip to give the suitcase back to her. the moments that follow are insanely hilarous.

Jim Carrey had a token year that year, he had a string of hits, Ace Ventura, The Mask, and this. He has a solid knack for physical and verbal comedy. He can do impressions really well, and has showed that in his films. Jeff Daniels, probably a new comer to the Comedy game, because mainly he has done some really serious roles, can make you laugh really hard with his stupid, yet funny questions. The Farelly Brothers are comedic brillance, They have had made seriously funny movies over the past 10 years that they have existed. They are a wonderful pair of directors, and I hope they make more. This film was one of the best comedic movies I have ever seen. It is so histarically funny. I guarentee that you won't stop laughing.

5 of 5 stars  funny
Saturday, February 19, 2005
this is a hilarius movie with lots of funny moments like lloyd (carey) walking out of the jet way and the cop drinking the pee which is funny I think the whole movie is funny and it is funny how dumb they both are throughout the film. Its about two people Lloyd and Harry and have bad jobs and Lloyd is a limo driver at the start and he meets mary swanson who he likes and he drops her off at the airport were she leaves a briefcase on purpose and she is going to aspen, lloyd thinks she left it there by accident and goes to find her. Him and harry go there and the journey there is funny like them throwing the salt at that guy and them killing that fat guy with atomic peppers. the whole movie is good and watch for a laugh
