THE WORST CD OF MY LIFESunday, May 15, 2005
I hate this band and this album. The vocals are just plain bad, and it makes it an irritating listen. But the real downfall here is the lyrics.
example: 'Stop asking Oprah what to do'
It must have taken weeks to get that. I mean, we all look to Oprah for our problems don't we?
'What if his people prayed'
Awful song. It is extremely sarcastic and adds nothing to the album. Christians pray!
'I am a flower fading slowly'
Don't even ask.
'Casting Crowns'
Yes the namesake, itself, is evil and blasphemous. It refers to dethroning God, and throwing his crown.
And they could have at least done a cover on 'The Battle Belongs To The Lord' or The Old Rugged Cross'. That would have been nice.
Overall, don't buy! The songs are just irritating and the vocals are horrific, very dull and pompous. The lyrics sound like something from Christ Lane, easily the worst musical icon in the history of music.
Unless you are evil or demented DO NOT BY THIS!

This group nails it! Clear, strong, empowering TRUTH!! Each song is something you've been through, someone you know has been through...or will go through at some point in life. Their confidence in Christ is very evident and you're re-encouraged everytime you listen!

Awesome, Awesome, AwesomeThursday, May 05, 2005
Best Christian CD of last year, and just about any year for that matter. Songs 2, 3, and 4 got tons of airplay. Song 1 "What if his people prayed" really makes you think. And my favorite of the lesser known songs "Praise you with the dance" is so uplifting and positive. Sounds a bit Irish with the smokin' violin. You can't miss with the messages and praises in all the cuts on this CD. Not a clunker in the bunch.

A worship experience.Wednesday, May 04, 2005
I just received several cd's and this was one that truly stood out. Really awesome songs that draw you closer to God. A must-have as a ccm fan.

Deserving of it's popularity...Thursday, April 28, 2005
I'm usually a little leery of whatever the popular hype and buzz is promoting, but Casting Crowns is a great album. Thoughtful lyrics, strong and distinctive vocal harmonies, along with kickin' music make for a great musical experience. You've heard some of the songs on the radio, no doubt. If so, you owe it to yourself to pick up the album and enjoy the full-course meal.
